Kumar, who was born in Delhi, competed in the B.C. Roy Trophy in 2013 while representing Delhi and serving as the captain of the Delhi team. Soon after that, he enrolled in the DSK Shivajian Academy. Additionally, he competed in matches for the local league with the DSK Shivajians B team.
