Sahaya Sheelan Shadrach, better known by his stage name Sadhu Kokila, is a singer, actor, comedian, film director and producer, and sometimes screenwriter and lyricist who works in the Kannada film industry.

He was born on March 24, 1966. Sadhu Kokila is his screen name.

He began his career as a composer before transitioning into the film industry and eventually featured in roles that were predominantly comedic.

In addition, he has directed 10 films in the Kannada language, the most successful of which was Raktha Kanneeru (2003).

As a composer, he has been honored with the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Music Director on two separate occasions. These honors were bestowed upon him for his work on the films Rakshasa (2005) and Inthi Ninna Preethiya (2008).

In recognition of his work as an actor, he has been recognized with several nominations and prizes in the South Indian International Movie Awards in the category of Best Comedian.

Sadhu Kokila Early Life

Sahaya Sheelan, who later became known as Sadhu Kokila, was born on March 24, 1966 in Bangalore, Mysore, India. Her parents, Natesh and Mangala, were Tamil nadaar Christians. Sadhu Kokila was formerly known as Sahaya Sheelan (now Karnataka).

His mother and sister are both playback singers, while his father is a violinist in the music band of the Karnataka Police Department.

He was born to a family of musicians. Layendra is Sadhu Kokila’s brother, and he also works in the family business.

Kokila received her high school education at St. Joseph’s Indian High School, which is located in the city of Bangalore in India.

Upendra, who directed Sheelan in his first film, gave him the stage name Sadhu Kokila to use for his character in the movie.

Kokila was encouraged to pursue music by the artist Kasturi Shankar, who was introduced to him by his brother.

In addition to that, he is also considered to be one of India’s most talented keyboard players. The year 1993 was significant since it was the year that Kokila got married to Saleena.

Their children’s names are Suraag and Srujan, and they have two of them.

Sadhu has been nominated for a number of South Indian International Movie Awards, and he has won two of them: the IIFA Award for Best Comedian, which he received for his role in the film Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, and the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Music Director, which he received for the films Rakshasa (2005) and Inthi Ninna Preethiya (2008).

Among his directing credits are films that were a financial success, such as Raktha Kanneeru (2003) and Rakshasa, both of which he directed. Gajakessari (2014) is an action movie in which both Yash and Amulya play key roles.

Yash has starred in various films in which he played notable roles, such as Om (1995), Aishwarya (2006), Super (2010), and Bhajarangi. Amulya has been in several films in which she played notable roles (2013).

In 2017, he appeared in a number of films, including Santhu’s Lee, Raajakumara, Maasthi Gudi, Bharjari, and College Kumar, in which he shared the screen alongside Vikky Varun and Samyuktha Hedge.
